Message from the Chairman:

When I entered the social domain, I knew very well how difficult my task would be. I also knew that the road would be long and full of pitfalls. But I was not discouraged. Driven by the unwavering will to contribute to the human development of my country, the difficulties only strengthened my determination.

Now that the Atlasbridges Foundation is about to blow out its 20th candle, it is clear that the results are very positive. The aim of this new structure is to enable socially disadvantaged population groups to develop their capacities and skills in order to increase their chances of integration into social-professional life.

In short, it is about helping them get back on track and reconnecting with hope. However, despite the increased focus on disadvantaged youth, we have maintained the same interest in people with disabilities as in the past. In fact, we have committed ourselves to changing the approach that has always been ours to help this social category.

Instead of providing sporadically material help to people with disabilities, we decided to qualify them and develop their capacities. The aim is to make them less dependent on "seasonal charity operations" and to make them responsible, so to speak. These people are now introduced to income-generating activities that are in line with their physical capacities. It is a way to prepare their effective integration into socio-professional life. As long as the disabled person is considered a passive element, his or her social integration will remain a pious wish for us.

It should be noted that the National Human Development Initiative, launched by HM the King, had a lot to do with this change of approach. The enlightened vision of the sovereign regarding the promotion of the condition of socially disadvantaged populations has inspired us to a great extent. Our association therefore had to be part of this new logic which consists in making the human element responsible and teaching it to use its energy and to exploit its potential to the full.

But whether it concerns people with disabilities or people with physical disabilities, it is the same struggle and the same commitment: to contribute to the social development of our country and to contribute to the construction of a prosperous and united Morocco that we all aspire to.
