AtlasBridges Department

Institute

AtlasBridges is a knowledge and expertise centre for the Arab and Islamic world in the Netherlands and Belgium and acts as a breeding ground for innovative ideas and projects. In collaboration with regional departments, sister organisations and external partners, AtlasBridges develops and implements various projects for institutions, government, educational institutions and companies. The institute is also involved in the organisational development and professionalisation of AtlasBridges as a whole. Furthermore, the consultancy firm is part of AtlasBridges. It operates in the field of research, intercultural communication, advice, training & coaching and recruitment & selection. AtlasBridges Institute is a professional organisation with a great deal of experience in the field of study trips, working visits, international delegations and missions. We organise trips both on behalf of (customised) and under our own management (with open registration). The institute organises study trips, working visits and missions in a variety of areas. In order to guarantee a high-quality trip, we have a broad network of professionals and specialists with different backgrounds and areas of expertise. The travel technical side of the study trips is provided by Otla-Safar Touroperator. AtlasBridges has its formula in which theory and practice are linked together as much as possible. Active participation of the participants and fascinating discussions are our starting point. We achieve this by addressing multiple angles of a theme or problem. The participants gain a large number of new ideas in a short and very intensive period. In addition, there is an opportunity to discuss extensively and in an informal atmosphere with colleagues, both with foreign colleagues and with fellow travelers. The study trips that we organize are truly study trips, with substantively good and expert guidance. All our study trips are guided by experienced and expert people on the subject who know the Dutch and Arab World situation on site and can make a connection. This sets AtlasBridges apart from other organizations in terms of content and program technology. AtlasBridges is happy to be your expert discussion partner in this.

International

AtlasBridges has been working with organisations in other countries for over 15 years. We believe it is important to share experiences and knowledge with other countries. On the one hand, to share the good experiences from the Netherlands with foreign organisations and to learn from the approach in other countries. AtlasBridges Network focuses on social inclusion and was set up in 2010. Organisations and individuals can become members of the network, which now has over 180 members from 32 countries. The network aims to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups – such as migrants, young people, refugees in risk situations. For example, the network organises seminars and training courses, develops manuals for working with vulnerable groups and informs policymakers about developments in practice. The network works together with researchers, policymakers, politicians, interest groups and everyone who contributes to these vulnerable groups. The network is involved in various European projects in the field of migration, reintegration, etc. International Projects Since 2010, AtlasBridges has been the initiator and coordinator of international projects and partnerships that focus on social integration of marginalized people. In this context, we work together with more than 300 organizations from every country of the European Union and neighboring countries such as Morocco, Jordan, etc. The projects focus on knowledge transfer, training, development of standards and guidelines and influencing policy.
