Why the Social-Work.App platform? Social-Work.App offers a solution for the (online) fragmentation of the social domain. How? By bringing the professionals themselves – with all their knowledge and experience – into contact with each other. In this way, we make optimal use of the knowledge in the social domain: cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary. At a local level, across regional borders and in the world. The information source of the Social-Work platform. Unique to this platform is that both executive professionals and policy officers, advisors and experienced experts answer the questions, and not a select group of designated experts. The Social-Work platform specifically links questions from one professional to the expertise of another. With tips, experiences or solutions for stalled cases, the participants help each other a step further. Because the practical experience on the platform is enriched with research, an answer becomes even more relevant. Within the local field On Social-Work, city networks can be started, in which professionals and residents work together on a healthy and social city. Such an online local network supports an integrated approach and working with one request. Across regional borders Social-Work participants are all connected by answering each other’s questions in Q&A and posting stories on the Timeline. In addition, they exchange knowledge through dedicated channels of national networks, temporary programs and organizations. A global internship network: Social-Work.App: Promote multi-directional shared learning to strengthen graduates’ understanding of social work. International best practices for ‘social development’. Ensure that social work students gain international experience in different settings to maximize their capacity. Build connected collaboration hubs including local institutions, social work departments and professional associations to support community development and transformation. Increase the visibility of social work’s impact. To set this vision in motion, the AtlasBridges Platform has created an International Social Work Network. The network consists of 1,200 students from many different countries who are now sharing their knowledge and experience. We aim for them to be pioneers in creating ongoing international relationships between our partner organizations. Q&A: Being able to solve complex questions anyway: In social urban teams, there is usually broad knowledge available. The professionals have generalist and specialist knowledge, and offer help for a variety of questions. According to a report by AtlasBridges, the most common objective of similar teams is to offer (access to) customized solutions. However, the increase in people seeking help with complex problems is increasing, which is a major concern for municipalities and cities. Practical experience enriched with research: Social-Work platform connects everyone who is involved in the social domain. Executive professionals, experts by experience and students can easily come into contact with researchers, advisors and policy officers. The platform enriches practical experience stories with research and other relevant articles. The platform also refers to current guidelines and methodologies. How does it work? In addition to the questions, answers and messages on the timeline, you will find (the links to) related information from knowledge institutes and industry and professional associations. Participants can of course also add research and other publications themselves.
