BRIDGE FUNCTION

The AtlasBridges have a long history

The AtlasBridges Foundation has an undeniably turbulent history! In 2004, AtlasBridges was founded as a student organization. This young organization had a strong service-oriented character, as can be seen from its activities; the foundation provided for the needs of its members. In the meantime, the number of AtlasBridges members (students, parents, young people) grew and the aforementioned services of AtlasBridges proved to be relatively successful.

But the foundation did not only rediscover its roots in the area of conviviality. As an organization it also acted more and more professionally. Early 2008 the institute of AtlasBridges was founded, a department where students can be helped by graduates with their complaints about, for example, the education system, in addition to offering internships. Both departments now operate under the name foundation AtlasBridges. An organization that operates with three centers is unique in the Netherlands.

In 2009, the AtlasBridges foundation is an influential and strong organization with over 236,000 e-mails in its database and many volunteers, of which approximately 20 are active. Things that AtlasBidges has been involved in over the past few years include organizing massive student debates, concerts, benefit concerts, campaigns, offering courses, internships, vacancies for members and the implementation of dozens of projects within higher education, social, societal and cultural areas, aid to developing areas in, among others: Morocco, Jordan, Turkey, Suriname and Greece and so on.
